Steve was DJ's boyfriend for over two years. They went on a few dates, but started a serious relationship when they were in Spain on a summer study program.
Steve is almost more attached to the Tanners than to his own parents. Danny hated the fact that DJ wanted to spend more time with Steve than with him, and Steve broke up with DJ so he wouldn't come between her and Danny. He's also very close to Steph and Michelle.
