The final update - sad to say goodbye
It started as a pet project, right after the birth of the internet. Watching Full House growing up there was suddenly a new way to connect with other fans, sharing pictures and geeking out. Long time has passed since I saved first .html files to floppy discs, frustrated at how few pictures fit on 1.4MB, hehe. This site was my first experience with coding, html and php and it inspired me to explore photoshop. Throughout my teenage years I spent a lot of time learning new scripts, making digital art work, creating quiz awards and connecting with other fans from all over the world. Tanner Central grew, I was proud of myself and what I had accomplished. I created the interactive quizzes and other fan sites started adopting my style. Not bad for a young girl from the arctic north.
As I finished high school, started working and planned my immigration wedding things changed. I guess it's only natural. You can only fangirl for so long. Quite a few of the people I knew in the online community from the early 2000s left at this point. It had been 20 years since Full House started and more than 10 years since it ended. The actors had moved on to new and successful projects. It was time to let go.
Don't get me wrong, Full House is still in my heart. Website design is as well. Letting go of something is often necessary to embrace and enjoy new things. The final decision to close was made over time because it was not an easy one. It would have been really cool to keep going until the 10th anniversary in 2013. Realistically that it's not doable. I still see activity on the site, which makes me happy, and I therefore plan on keeping it online as it is for as long as I keep this domain. I am shutting down he forum as it didn't bloom as expected. The guestbook is still available.
I want to send a big Thank You to my followers over the past 8 years. You guys are awesome and have put a smile on my face so many times! To my site affiliates, fan work submitters and fellow Full House webmasters - Thank you for showing interest in my site. To Doug Fowler, Jane and Paul - Thank you for the great cooperation we have had over the past years. I really appreciate it.
Take care my friends. Live, learn, love. Be happy :=)
